On May 26, 2009 State Judge Marc Carter signed the D.A.`s "Proposed Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law" and recommended to the CCA that I be denied habeas relief... This is a very disappointing incident, since everyone involved in trying to help me save my life had hoped this Judge would give us a competent review. Instead he has proven to be just like every other Harris Country Judge, totally biased and prejudiced against any person coming from death row asking for relief. Instead of actually reading my appeal and responding to the issues himself, he fell in behind the D.A.`s position, ignoring the fact that this D.A.`s office has been beset with scandal for years...
The fight is still far from over, so please do not give up hope in me yet. My appeal will now go to the Court of Criminal Appeal in Austin, Texas.
There IS NO certain time limit for them to reply, so we do not know when we will once again hear something although the CCA does reduce its review of cases during the summer months. Though the CCA has not been known to give death row inmates much help in the last 10 years, we are hopeful that they will see the merits in our appeal, and will send us back to the state court for a hearing so we can present the many new pieces of evidence that prove I am innocent and that the authorities knew this.
We still need your help, and I hope that you will continue to support us in any way you can.

We made it, on the 20th of May the TV from Finland did their documentation of Tony at the Polunsky Unit.  It will be already on TV at Finland by the 13th of June 2009. If you would like to see it, please use the link to watch the show. There were also two interviews published on radio stations at Finland as well as followed by an article on the newspapers on the 13th of June which will also lead to the documentary.  The interest seems to grow because we got more questions for following interviews. I will let you know how everything moves forward.  Article

06/23/2009:
Martina Jaser has announced the name of Tony Medina for a monument of peace at Italy called ) “Tavolo di Pace” (Table of Peace)

(This monument will be illuminated for two consecutive nights each time a government around the world decides to abolish the death penalty or when a death sentence is commuted to life imprisonment.”  Needless to say this goes also – and doubly so – for when an innocent person who was given a death sentence is exonerated and released).

09/16/2009

Hello,
„AS you all know, on May 26 the state court judge turned down my Proposed Facts and Findings, and signed off on the State’s. In doing so he recommended to the CCA that they deny me Habeas Relief at the state level. Today (September 16, 2009) the CCA issued a ruling turning down my appeal. Of course, they did not give any solid reasons, instead they did what they have become famous for under Killer-Keller and her Pro-Prosecution attitude, they simply rubber-stamped the findings of the state trial court… Never mind that there were many very obvious mistakes, that doesn’t concern the CCA… so now I move forward to my federal appeals. Morris Moon was able to get Jim Marcus and Robert McGlasson, both VERY good lawyers, to take over my federal Appeals, and we will start working on that very soon.
I wanted to thank ALL of the people who have supported me, and I want to ask all of you again to please keep supporting us in our campaign efforts. My time is getting limited, so I need as much help as all of you can give us…
THANK YOU…
IN HEART AND STRUGGLE --- TONY. M

April 23, 2010

Received good news today. On April 5th, my lawyers filed a great motion in the federal courts, asking for more time to prepare the final amendments on my appeal. My state habeas appeal was MUCH larger then normal appeals in Texas, since I had the benefit of a really good lawyer. So my Federal appeal lawyers are having to work thru a lot of material, built up over 10 years. On April 20th the judge GRANTED our motion! This now gives us until September 16, 2010 to file. This time means we will have more time to file the best appeal possible, giving me the greatest chance in the courts.....
