The history of Tony Medina

Almost 387 Men are on Death Row at the Polunsky Unit in Texas. One of these men is Tony Medina. Tony Medina, is the 35 years old father of three children.He has been incarcerated on Death Row for the past 14 years. Tony was sentenced to die by lethal injection for a brutal drive-by shooting which left two children dead at a family party.

What they say about history repeating itself is true. A couple years ago I sat in this very same cage, at this very same steel bunk, typing on this very same typewriter and wrote about this world I`ve been in since 1996… DEATH ROW. For as sure as I am sitting here writing these words, Death Row is undoubtedly a world unto itself.

Jury Selection for Tony (Anthony) Medina`s trial began on July 15, 1996. Nine days later, despite the fact that defense attorneys were unprepared and had not conducted even a basic investigation into their clients case, the trial began. It was July 24, 1996.

Anthony Medina is sitting on death row in a US prison. His attorney is fighting to reopen his case, as he is thoroughly convinced of the innocence of his client.

Livingston, Texas. The Polunski Unit – Death Row is located 40 miles north of Houston. We wanted to meet this man who supposedly has the death of two children on his conscious. Sentenced to death he has been waiting nine years for Day X, the day he is to receive the lethal injection. During our conversation any type of personal or body contact is strictly prohibited. A bullet-proof glass separates Tony from the outside world. We wanted to hear from him, why he is in here.
